Visually arresting, character-driven filmmaking

I’m an Emmy-nominated Director, Writer and Producer specialising in ambitious factual television with a focus on science, wildlife and history.

I have 20 years of experience creating award-winning programmes for primetime BBC 1 & 2, Netflix, Disney+, Discovery, Smithsonian, C4, C5, Apple and Nat Geo, in a range of countries, climates and budget levels with live action and vfx. I’ve worked with high-profile stakeholders and collaborators such as David Attenborough, Will Smith, Chris Hemsworth, Darren Aronofsky and Neil Druckmann.

As well as making films, I’m a creative ‘ideas guy’ and have worked with – and led – development teams to multiple successful commissions, bringing fresh thinking and innovative approaches to maximise entertainment and accessibility to factual subjects.

I’m fascinated by compelling characters with a remarkable story to tell, be it human, animal or planet. I’m passionate about the environment and love exploring big ideas that reveal it’s wonder, and reflect humanity’s place in it. I enjoy using current science to imagine other worlds in the deep past or speculative future.
